Windows 7 | The Latest Version of Microsoft Windows
Windows 7 is the latest version of Microsoft Windows which was introduced on Thursday, October 22, 2009, less than three years after the release of Windows Vista. There are a lot of new features on Windows 7 such as advances in touch and handwriting recognition, support for virtual hard disks, improved boot performance, improved performance in multi-care processors, DirectAccess and kernel improvements. There have been a lot of additions to the Control Panel including Troubleshooting, Workspace Center, Location and other Sensors, Clear Type Text Tuner and Display Color Calibrating Wizards.
The Taskbar has many changes including the Quick Launch Toolbar which has been replaced with pinning applications on the taskbar. There are several removed features like the Classic Start Menu user interface, Windows Ultimate Extras, Ink Ball and Windows Calendar. Also, three applications that were a part of Windows Vista – Window Photo Gallery, Windows Movie Maker and Windows Mail are not included in Windows 7. However, they are available in a separate package – Windows Live Essentials, free of cost.
