Retired News Veteran, Walter Cronkite, Gravely Ill
Retired News Veteran, Walter Cronkite, Gravely Ill – Walter Cronkite, who was a CBS television newsman for more than two decades, is reported to be gravely ill. He had been ill for some time and it’s been reported that the 92-year-old anchor has taken a turn for the worse. His longtime assistant, Marlene Adler, on Friday, denied reports that he was gravely ill. She said, “He’s aging. He’s suffering from the challenges of aging, but he is not gravely ill. Only God knows when life will end, and for Walter, it’s not imminent.” However, according to TV Newser “multiple CBS News sources said that Cronkite was ‘gravely ill.’” Bob Schieffer, host of CBS’ “Face the Nation” indicated that he had no news on Cronkite’s condition but said, “All of us are praying for the best, and our thoughts are with Walter’s family.”
