Pop Legend and Superstar – Michael Jackson – Dies at 50 – Michael Jackson, also known as the King of Pop, died today at the age of 50.
According to reports released by TMZ and confirmed by the L.A. Times and the Associated Press, Michael suffered a cardiac arrest at his rented home in Holmby Hills, California. Paramedics who responded to the 911 call were unable to revive him. He was taken to UCLA Medical Center where attempts to revive him also failed. Other sources reported that he was in a coma.
Michael’s death as the biggest pop star of all time was known for his single sequined glove, military styled jackets, aviator sunglasses and crotch-grabbing dance moves. His life has been plagued with rumors of multiple cosmetic surgeries and charges of molesting a teenager boy. He was cleared of the charges.
Michael was preparing for his greatest comeback which would include 50 shows at a London arena beginning July 13. He had been rehearsing in Los Angeles for the concert which was slated to be an elaborate affair with show stopping dance moves and throbbing dance beats. Michael had been working out with a trainer for many hours a day as he prepared for the tour. And even though there were some concerns about his health, he recently passed a physical.
A family spokesman said that Jackson may have had a prescription drug problem which was enabled by the people who surrounded him. There has been no official statement from the Jackson family; however, Michael’s attorney said that the family was secluded in his hospital room.
