Farrah Fawcett Loses the Battle with Cancer – Actress and Hollywood golden girl, Farrah Fawcett, 62, died Thursday morning following a three-year battle with cancer.
Farrah was diagnosed with anal cancer in September 2006. After going through chemo and radiation, she was declared cancer free in February 2007. However, the cancer returned later that year. When treatment failed in the USA, she went to Germany for alternative treatments.
Her longtime love, Ryan O’Neal, has been by her side throughout her difficult illness as well as her close friend, Alana Stewart.

Farrah will always be remembered as Jill Munroe on Charlie’s Angels, the 70’s television show, as well as her role in Murder in Texas, Extremities and the Burning Bed.
Farrah Fawcett was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of James and Pauline Fawcett. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and left for Los Angeles in her junior year. She quickly landed jobs in L.A. starring in toothpaste and shampoo commercials.
She married Lee Majors in 1973 and three years later she was cast in Charlie’s Angels. She split up with Majors in 1979 and began her love affair with Ryan O’Neal. Their relationship had its ups and downs and they were together for many years even though they never married. Their relationship produced a son, Redmond, now 24. O’Neal said on Monday that he asked Farrah to marry him and she agreed.
Farrah died at 9:28 a.m. on June 25, 2009, with Alana and Ryan at her bedside.
