I like how you identify your self as black man. Maybe you should try identifying your self as a person and not as your ethnicity. I for one do not care that a black man is power. It doesn’t excite nor does it make me mad. What makes me mad is people voting for people based on color. Given we know roughly 90 percent of the black population voted for Obama. And yes I know not all black people voted based on his color, but come on, it’s pretty obvious. I am just tired of people using race as a factor (for good and bad). Can’t we just vote for people based on what they can do? I am not going to vote for someone just because he is Hispanic. I will vote for him based on his record, accomplishments, etc. I being Hispanic recommend other minorities to stop using reverse racism. Racism is racism. It is wrong.

As for this song, I do not think it is racism. If you know the background info of the original article by LA times, you will realize it is a satire. So relax. And if anything, I think if African-Americans want to really get rid of the word Negro/Nigger, it should first and most importantly start off within your community. You should stop using and putting your selves down. I think it’s funny how we have a double standard of using words. So it’s ok for them to use within themselves but when anyone else uses it, it’s racist. Help your self first.

Yes! its racism because that kind dont want to see barack obama being the president and as good as it sounds the black people today are as successful as they are. I beleive he was doing that in a way to remind us who fully understand barack just not because he is black but because he is willing to make a change not only for blacks but for the united states of america they dont wont him in office, but history has been made! So that low life should try in put all that racism aside and realize that that aferican american man BARACK OBAMA is his president and is the president of the u.s ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE!

I was wondering if the lyrics were similar to “puff the magic dragon”, it appears they do, but I can’t confirm this 100% because the video was removed due to terms of violation. I agree with this and am pleased with this action. After all Barrack hasn’t had even 1 day in office, so poking fun at him is a its very least premature. I feel that after 8 years of Bush/Cheney bungling its a miracle that America survived intact and that my pet cat would have been a better President! I am hoping that the folks in our country will just give him a chance to be our leader.

The song is silly and I hope that President Elect Obama does not take it seriously. In fact it is my hope that the President Elect does not give this song any attention at all. The fact of the matter is plain and simple, Barack Obama is the first Black American President and thus the use of the word Negro in that song is very inappropriate. Do not act stupid and pretend you do not know the history of that word, there is NO word in History that is as ugly as that word. Black People have not been called Negro for a very very long time, it is NOT politically correct. The title is either African American, Black American or even (reluctantly) Afro-American. Calling Barack a Negro is just as offensive as calling him a Nigger. That is the problem with the song. NO one has ever called George Bush and Kracker, or a Honkey or whatever the derogatory term for Caucaisian is. The jokes about George Bush have always been about his screwing up the nation and his use (or lack thereof) of the english language.
The song is silly and stupid, and not to be taken seriously, but it is in poor taste and the fact that a Republican is spreading it shows that person to be stupid and very very foolish especially in this time and with the reputation the Republican’s have for being intolerant, and racist.

I agree that Bush had a lot of things said about him, but the difference is that they were based on things he actually said. Those remarks were directed at his level of intelligence, and competence based on his own actions not his race, age or gender. Which is the difference. If you disagree with Barack’s opinions, decisions what have you, that’s fine. But this song is blatantly poking fun at his race and the black community. I for one, do not support making fun of anyone. I feel that a lot of people need to look at themselves before making fun of others or do they make fun of others to take attention from themselves. The 5th amendment gives us the right to freedom of speech, but not to make fun or bring down someone else. We take a lot of things out of context to suit our own needs. Many people need to pay attention to the morals and values that they are showing and teaching the younger generation. There have been many shootings and killings at many schools across the United States because parents taught or showed their kids that the 5th amendment gives them the right to say what they want with no consequences. However, the other kid(s) didn’t think so, instead they learned through the Constitution, they have the right to bear arms and defend themselves. So… where do we go from here with our rights? I say, mind your own business, teach good morals and values, fix your flaws, racism, and family problems before meddling .

Actually, it’s the 1st amendment that gives you the right to free speech. The 5th is the one they read to you when you get arrested, “You have the right to remain silent, etc…”

The song itself may be in poor taste, but as you say, it is no worse than many, many of the parodies of George W Bush. I think the issue is that it was included on a CD distributed as a Christmas gift from a Republican politician to other Republicans. The CD contained many other songs making fun of Democrats and Liberals. I was raised by conservative parents who taught me it’s poor manners to celebrate a joyous holiday by mocking others. It’s supposed to be a time to come together and at least temporarily forget our differences.
